I have enjoyed this class and have learned a lot. I see we may actually be able to use what we have learned next year...the district is going to adopt all the Google "stuff". Mercy! That means all my colleagues will want me to show them how to use these features. :-) Hope everyone has a wonderful summer break!

suggestions for cursive writing

Any suggestions for teaching cursive writing to my daughter this summer. I am going to be completely honest...I want as little involvement as possible in this. More like a self paced "study". lol

Technology stinks

Once again, I am having technology issues! I cannot even get into PS! I need to add some grades but all my lovely computer wants to do is serenade me with the sound of its fan blowing!!Ugh!

Success!!

Well, Friday was a HUGE success! I will surely try this next year. Maybe one Friday out of each month. My students enjoyed the day AND they completed their assignment! :-)

Something new

So this Friday, I am trying something new. I'm allowing my students to use their ipods or phones during class to listen to music while they work on their assignment. I'm just curious how effective it will be in the completion of their assignment. When I was in school, it was a must to have the radio playing in the background while completing homework. I felt like I was more productive and successful, so I'm going to try this with my students. I'll let you know how that goes. (Even to this day if I have some background music playing while I am cleaning house, I think I could clean an entire castle in a day. :-)) I would like to allow them to bring ipads and laptops so they could type their responses, but I really don't want to get into theft issues. Maybe some day our district will consider allowing these devices in the classroom.

So glad to have all of my assignments completed (well almost). I need to send my acceptable use policy for my classroom. I have learned a good bit from this class, so far. I am enjoying sharing some of the things I have learned with my students. They really like the "power point" idea and one of my classes is VERY excited about the technology project!!

Working on my new project assignment. I think this is going to turn out really cute. Can't wait to share with my tech class after the kids turn in their final projects!!

Tonight was interesting. I learned a lot of new stuff. Kinda excited about the upcoming project. I think I already have an idea in mind. :-) I think rubistar is going to be a very helpful website. :-)

Trying to balance being a mother, teacher, writer, and student is becoming quite a challenge. I have missed class and feel soooooo far behind. Guess I'm gonna have to call on one of my computer "nerd" friends to help. And by way...I am tired of this cold weather!!!! Bring on the sunshine!!

Frustrated

A little frustrated. I'm trying to figure out how to complete the Podcast, but my computer will not load. I'm excited to learn how to complete this...an out of town friend has done this and she loves it. (Wish she were a little closer so she could help.) Hope I have mine completed soon. :-)

Stay away snow!!

Well, the snow was beautiful, but I am soooooo over it! Bring on the sunshine!!! Y'all laughed because I don't have Internet and cable/direct TV, but I wasn't bothered by my kids the entire time. :-) They stayed next door with my parents...they have the perks that I don't. Hope we can get back on schedule soon!!

I have to say I am feeling a little overwhelmed right now. I have had computer trouble both days of this class. I feel like I am getting behind... unlike many in my class, I do not have a computer - much less Internet access. I CANNOT WORK ON MY ASSIGNMENTS AT HOME. Oh, well. I will hold my head up high and strive to do my best. I am not a quitter! :-) On a lighter note... What did the envelope say to the stamp? Stick to me and we'll go places! Hee! Hee! Corny, but you know you laughed! :-)
